On behalf of the Lithuanian people and on my own behalf, I extend sincere congratulations on the occasion of your birthday. As your country celebrates its national holiday – King’s Day – I wish you, members of the Royal Family and the people of the Kingdom of the Netherlands many memorable moments, much joy and continued success.
Our two countries, united by common values and goals, are very close partners and allies in the European Union and NATO. I am pleased to note that we address newly emerging economic, political and security challenges in the spirit of solidarity and mutual understanding. In Lithuania, we highly value your country’s contribution to maintaining peace in the Baltic states region.
Today’s extensive cooperation ties between the people of our countries are best reflected by dynamic academic exchanges, joint business projects, cultural initiatives, and love for sports: the Dutch national football team is a favorite among Lithuanian fans. I am confident, therefore, that our bilateral relations and people-to-people contacts will be further deepened as we continue to develop Lithuanian and Dutch citizen initiatives based on mutual interest.
May I again offer my congratulations on this very special day. Please accept, Your Majesty, the assurances of my highest esteem.
