The President extended condolences on the passing of former U.S. First Lady Barbara Bush


President Dalia Grybauskaitė extended condolences to George H. W. Bush, 41st President of the United States of America, and the Bush family on the passing of former First Lady Barbara Pierce Bush. “Barbara Bush devoted her life to her family and her country, earning the love and respect of American citizens. She will remain in their memory as a committed promoter of democratic, humanitarian and family values,” the President wrote in her message of condolences.

The President extended condolences over tragic incident in Münster


President Dalia Grybauskaitė extended her condolences and those of the Lithuanian people to German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier over the tragic incident in Münster, which resulted in the death of innocent people. She wished strength to the victim’s families and loved ones, recovery to the injured as well as unity and consolidation to the people of Münster and Germany.

The President will make a working visit to France


On Monday, April 6, President Dalia Grybauskaitė is going on a working visit to Paris where she will meet with President Emmanuel Macron of France for bilateral talks at the Élysée Palace. The President of Lithuania will also attend a meeting between the three Presidents of the Baltic states and the President of France. In the evening, the Presidents will open an exposition dedicated to Baltic Symbolism at the Musee d’Orsay. Dalia Grybauskaitė will also attend the Council of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) where she will finalize the negotiations on Lithuania’s membership.
