The President congratulated Poland on Independence Day


Friday, 11 November, Vilnius – President Dalia Grybauskaitė extended her sincere congratulations to President Andrzej Duda of Poland and all Polish people on Independence Day.

According to the President, Lithuania and Poland have embarked on the same historic path due to their aspirations for independence, people’s courage and determination to live in a free and strong country, that defends its citizens and their interests. In her message of congratulations, the President emphasized that nowadays this means a strong commitment and responsibility to defend the democratic values that unite Lithuania and Poland and the freedom they won.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of reestablished diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Poland.

According to Dalia Grybauskaitė, during these years, Lithuania and Poland have become ever closer as partners and allies, and common understanding of challenges determines the dialogue based on mutual awareness and support on the most outstanding issues of transatlantic and regional agenda.

The President underscored that high-level cooperation and implementation of joint strategic projects have a significant contribution to reaching common objectives and ensuring freedom, security and well-being of people.

Dalia Grybauskaitė wished the President of Poland happiness and health as well as every success and long years of well-being and prosperity to Poland and its people.
