Friday, December 7, Vilnius - President Dalia Grybauskaitė accepted letters of credence from the Ambassador of the Republic of Romania, Dan Adrian Balanescu.
According to the President, Romania is Lithuania's significant ally in NATO and partner in the EU. The Presidents of Lithuania and Romania met last time in September this year when Dalia Grybauskaitė was on her official visit in Romania.
The President noted that Lithuania's upcoming Presidency of the European Union and the EU's Eastern Partnership Summit next year would provide a good opportunity to strengthen further the bilateral relations.
Ambassador D.A. Balanescu, holding diploma in law, before his appointment to Lithuania was adviser to the President of Romania.
